Introduction to the Course:

This course approaches  emotional development in children through the lens of emotional education. Emotional education is a relatively new area in the educational field. It is being introduced into schools and educational centers in order to respond to the need to allow children to develop in ways that reach beyond just cognitive development and academic performance. It teaches children to get to know their emotional capacities, preparing them for confronting difficulties and improving their sense of motivation, responsibility and wellbeing. These factors are perhaps the best indicators of personal success, and, more importantly, overall happiness.

This course serves as a theoretical introduction to emotional education. It will provide a firm basis for anyone who would like to learn about the foundations of the field. It covers the most pertinent theoretical models in emotional education, the different ways of approaching and interpreting emotions, and the processes of emotional development.
