Introduction:

In recent years, we have seen an increase of artistic training and activities in our leisure and free time—and more demand for them, too. Therefore, there are growing numbers of therapeutic spaces and institutions in which the visual arts are the primary focus. The effectiveness of art therapy has been proven through processes in socio-education intervention and personal improvement.

Artistic activities not only develop personal skills like creativity; they also use perception, self-knowledge, self-motivation and resilience as tools to provide satisfaction and personal improvement. Everyone can enjoy the benefits that having these skills provides.

Our Art Therapy course provides students with all of the conceptual, methodological and practical elements involved in the complex practice of Art Therapy and is a highly useful complement to many areas of study. It focuses on the extensive potential that visual arts activities have for social, educational and personal development.
